ScotiaBank has a tagline that says “You’re Richer Than You Think” Here’s my twist on that.

Take out a $10, $20, or even a $100 bill (or the highest currency where you live).

Now ask yourself: How much is this worth?

The answer’s simple. Whatever the number printed on it says.

But let’s get a little unorthodox here. Crumple it. Step on it. Fold it. Make it look like it just went through the laundry.

Now straighten it back out.
How much is it worth now?

Still the same, right?

That’s the point.

A little reminder we all need

Life will crush you sometimes.
It’ll step on you.
It’ll fold you in half and make you feel like you’re not worth much.

But here’s the truth: your worth never changes.

No matter how messy things get. No matter how stressed or anxious you feel. No matter how many times life stomps on you, you’re still valuable.

You are priceless

Think about it: that crumpled $100 bill? Still $100.

But you? You’re more than that my friend. You’re priceless.

So next time you open your wallet or purse, remember this little exercise.
Remind yourself: I’m still worth it.

Because life might wrinkle you up, but it can never take away your value.

P.S. We’ve all scotched tape a ripped $20 bill or some other currency at some point. Why did we do it? Because even if we had more in the bank we didn’t want to throw away something of value. Even if you need a “fix” remember your value will remain the same.
